Bathroom Waterproofing & Leakage

Stop bathroom leaks into the unit below. Floor, wall and shower area waterproofing done properly the first time.

Most bathroom leaks come back because the waterproofing was rushed, or skipped, the first time. We strip back to the slab, treat the floor and wall junctions, flood-test it, and only then let the tiler continue, so the leak is fixed once and stays fixed.

  • Damp, peeling paint or mould on walls next to the bathroom
  • Tiles lifting, hollow-sounding or grout turning black
  • Leak returns after tiles were replaced or re-grouted
  • Floor trap and wall corners seeping water

Benefits

  • Leak source confirmed first so you only waterproof what is needed
  • Membrane carried up the walls and around pipe and trap penetrations
  • 48-hour flood test before any tile goes back
  • Workmanship warranty on the waterproofing

Bathroom Waterproofing & Leakage questions

Available across:

Do I have to hack all my bathroom tiles?

Not always. If the leak is only at the grout or a failed floor trap, a targeted injection or re-seal may be enough. Full waterproofing means lifting the floor tiles so the membrane can bond to the slab. We tell you which one you need after inspection.

How long does bathroom waterproofing take?

Usually three to five days: one day to hack and prepare, one to two days for membrane curing, 48 hours of flood test, then screed and tiling.

Who is responsible when the leak goes into the unit below?

Usually the owner of the upper unit. We can issue a short report with photos for your management office or insurer.

Which waterproofing material do you use?

Cementitious or polyurethane membranes depending on the area. Wet floors and shower zones usually get a flexible polyurethane or acrylic-modified cementitious coat. We name the product on the quotation.
